Along with our carbon management services, TPC works with companies to identify their Significant Energy Users (SEUs), to quantify their energy consumption (and energy intensity), and develop Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs).
An EnMS is a framework that companies and organizations can use to identify and adopt energy-saving opportunities. Essentially, an EnMS involves developing and implementing an energy policy for the company, setting achievable targets for energy use, and designing action plans to reach and measure progress. Ultimately, an EnMS can be audited by an independent 3rd-party, and if the company can show demonstratable energy savings, the company can receive a certification for their ISO 50001.
On average, to have an effective EnMS, it will take approximately 9 to 12 months to implement. This includes Bot the Stage 1 and Certification Audits. Certification Audits need to be done by a Certification Body that has been accredited by an International Accreditation Body for ISO 50001.
Not necessarily. More often than not, companies can identify plenty of low- or no-cost savings opportunities. Such opportunities include management and operational changes that do not require investment in new equipment or expensive software.
